If you are considering sending your child to All Saints’ an appointment should be made through the school office. You will be shown around the school by the Head Teacher, and have an opportunity to raise any points or enquiries.

Parents who would like a Nursery place should click here to view a copy of the Ecumenical Nursery Admission Policy.

We have recently published the 2007 School Prospectus which is available to download here.

Admissions criteria for All Saints School Putney

The Governing Body is responsible for the admission of pupils to All Saints’ Church of England Primary School and admits 30 children to the Reception class each September. This admission number has been agreed between the Governing Body and the Local Authority and applies to the year 2008. The Governing Body is required to abide by the maximum limits for infant classes (5, 6 and 7 year olds), ie 30 per class.

1 Children looked after (Children looked after as defined by section 22 of the Children Act 1989 and meaning any child in the care of a local authority or provided with accommodation by it (e.g. children with foster parents).Written evidence will be required to show that the child will be looked after on the date of admission.

2 Siblings. This means the brothers and sisters of children attending the school at the time of admission (not at the time of application). The term sibling is defined as blood relative, step-sibling, foster or adopted child living at the same address as the child attending school at the time of admission. If there are more applicants in this category than places available, priority will be given to those also fulfilling criteria 3 & 4 below in order of precedence.

3 Children whose parents are actively involved in the worship, life and work of the Parish of St Mary with All Saints Putney.
Applicants for this criterion will need to complete a ‘Clergy Form’ obtainable from the School office.
The basic points of the admissions criterion for a church place (category 3) are:
"Active in the worship, life and work of the Parish of Putney" which means:
i Regular attendance at the worship of the Parish in either or both churches for at least two years before the date of application. This is understood to mean more than once each month.
Parents who have moved to the parish within the two years preceding the published closing date may still apply for admission under category 3 if they are able to demonstrate an equivalent active participation in their previous parish, for at least two years (a letter from their previous minister in support will be required).
ii An active commitment to the work and life of the Parish. This can be expressed in a number of ways:
(a) Participation through a Parish organisation or service (such as sidesman/woman, cleaning, pastoral forum, assisting with fund-raising or major events, etc).
(b) Major office holder in the Parish (e.g. Warden, Treasurer, Sacristan, etc.) from the date of the last APCM of the parish.
(c) Membership of the parochial Church Council, or one of its subcommittees from the date of the last annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) of the parish.

Points ii.a-c represent the kinds of participation which may be seen as evidence of being active in the life and work of the Parish. This is not an exclusive or exhaustive list. It is further understood that more than one of these examples of participation will be the case.
If there are more applicants in this category than places available, priority will be given to those also fulfilling criteria 4 below.

4 Proximity of the home to the school.
This will be measured along a suitable walking route to the main school entrance not as the crow flies.
If applicants live equidistant from the school and there are sufficient places to admit all applicants, the Governing Body will draw lots to decide between applicants.
Within each of the above criteria the Governors will, in exceptional cases, give priority to children who, because of medical or social needs would benefit from a placement at the school. Written proof of need will be required in appropriate cases from the relevant professionals at the time of application (e.g. medical practitioner, education welfare officer, social worker).
The above criteria will be adopted without regard to gender, race, class or ability.

All Saints’ operates a waiting list for every class in the School, each of which is ordered in accordance with the admission criteria.
